*I really like Liquetex & Golden products  >>
  • A table top easel or Books to prop up your canvas
  • A Variety of Brushes: I use synthetic brushes that are soft to touch. Flats, angled flats, round & liner brush. A bigger flat brush for painting the background. If your buying new brushes here is a few links to give you a visual
  • Water Glass
  • White Chalk or Watercolor pencil (You can use the same chalk pencil that you find in sewing)
  • Paper Towel & Rag for cleaning brushes in between coats
  • Hair Dryer is handy (in case you need to speed up drying time)
  • A palette for your paints - A paper or plastic white plate works well
  • A palette knife or plastic knife for mixing
Here is a list of suggestions to have with you for your Pear Paint Session & how to prepare
  • Canvas size options: One >>10x20 /12x12 or 14x14 (You can also try a diptych of 2 or 3 small canvases side by side of 8x10's)  I would recommend a larger canvas than working too small. *IMPORTANT*Before your session paint your entire canvas a shade of red for your background (this could be reddish orange, burnt sienna, pinks etc..) Make sure the paint is dry BEFORE we meet
  • Acrylic paints: Red, Blue, Turquoise, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Yellow Ochre (Mustard Colour), Green, Black, White
Note* Feel free to include an assortment of colours especially if you'd like to create a table cloth. For paint nights its not necessary to use expensive paints. The professional grade paints have more pigment than student grade. I like Amsterdam paint for an economical option with higher pigment. Michael's carries Artist's Loft as their student grade & professional acrylic set option. I typically purchase 59ml tubes.
  • A palette knife or plastic knife for mixing
